Virginia Statewide Conference - Sept 17, 2026

THE INSTITUTE

The Global Trauma Institute

Education and certification for the workforce that does not yet exist.

There will never be enough licensed therapists to heal a wound carried by seventy percent of the population. The people already in the room — the teacher, the nurse, the pastor, the officer, the foster parent — are the ones who will do most of this work. The Institute exists to train them, certify them, and hold them to a standard.

A division of the Arizona Trauma Institute.

The Global Trauma Institute delivers individual education and certification under the Arizona Trauma Institute, an established provider of trauma training and clinical board certifications.

Training and certification open in early 2027.

HOW THIS FITS TOGETHER

UACT sets the standard. The Institute teaches to it.

Two organizations, two jobs. Keeping them separate is what makes the certification worth holding.

UACT

Sets the standard

Defines what Trauma Responsive means, publishes the four tiers, and holds the certification standard on behalf of the whole coalition. UACT does not deliver training and does not certify individuals.

The Institute

Teaches to the standard

Builds and delivers the curriculum, assesses competence, and issues certification that meets UACT's Trauma Responsive standards. One of several providers that may eventually teach to this standard.

Why the separation matters

A standard is only credible if the body that sets it is not the only body that can profit from teaching it. UACT publishes the standard openly so that other institutions can build to it — and be measured against it.

THE ROUTE

Three steps. Anyone can take the first one.

Each step moves you up a tier. Nobody is asked to commit before they know what this is.
