/ THE UACT COALITION /
Not because we are better. Because nobody has tried to do this together.
Every institution that touches childhood trauma — healthcare, education, justice, faith, foster care, government — is working on a fragment of it, in isolation. No shared vocabulary. No shared standards. No shared metrics. No shared roadmap. The cost of that fragmentation is counted in lives.
UACT exists to unite the world against childhood trauma.
A 501(c)(3) coalition, headquartered in Tennessee, convening the leaders and institutions required to dramatically and measurably reduce childhood trauma over the next fifty years.
WHERE WE ARE RIGHT NOW
Most organizations wait until they look finished before they say anything. We are not going to do that.
Our founding board and global scientific advisory panel are actively being assembled, drawing on clinical pioneers, systemic policy experts, and institutional leaders. We believe transparent construction builds true trust.
01
Get the world to see the wound for what it is, and give people the words for what happened to them. It is the bottleneck in front of everything else, and it is free to move.
02
Build the coalition itself. Every organization and every person who signs the Charter makes the next signature easier to get.
03
Stand up the education and certification engine — the thing that turns agreement into trained, competent people on the ground.
We are just starting. We are committed.
WHAT WE ARE DOING
Not three programs. Three levers, pulled together — and the work of the next fifty years.
Awareness
Most people carrying childhood trauma have never had it named for them, and most institutions do not know how they are making it worse. Awareness is the permission to find meaning in the fact of everything else, and make it theirs to create.
Healing
There will never be enough therapists. So we must certify the existing systems of the population, so we build the training, workforce, and the standard for what good looks like, and make the first step reachable for anyone.
Prevention
Every adult who holds a child while a new wound is excluded. Prevention is a systemic imperative from funding — it is not funding producers, now a measure.
Every member moves at least one of them. That is the whole ask.
/ THE STANDARD WE SET /
Everything, because thirty years of work got the world to admit the wound is real. Nothing, because a person who is bleeding does not need you to know they are bleeding.
Stage 01
Does not know the wound exists.
Stage 02
Knows it is out there.
Stage 03
Knows it shapes behaviour.
Stage 04 UACT CERTIFIED
Takes trained, deliberate action.
Three of those four tiers are states of knowing. Only one is a state of doing. Crossing that gap is the entire work of the next fifty years — and Trauma Responsive is the standard UACT certifies to.
